The Before

A cluttered, dated dining room with a heavy wooden table, mismatched chairs, and dark decor elements. The walls are a neutral beige, and the window has simple, dark curtains. This dining room certainly had potential, but it was buried under a somewhat heavy, traditional aesthetic. The existing wooden table felt oversized and clunky, the chairs were a mix-and-match that didn't quite gel, and the overall impression was a bit dark and uninspired. While the window offered a decent amount of natural light, it wasn't being maximized. The room felt closed off, lacking the open, airy flow essential for a modern dining experience. It was a space that could host a dinner party, but probably wouldn't inspire one.

We completely reimagined this space, stripping away the old to make way for a bright, inviting, and truly Scandinavian dining room. The transformation hinges on a few key pieces that work together to create a cohesive and calming environment.

The star of the show, naturally, is the Renee Light Brown Wood Rectangular Dining Table | Trestle. We chose this table specifically for its beautiful light wood finish and elegant trestle base. At $495, it offers an incredible foundation for a Scandinavian aesthetic – it's substantial enough to feel grounded, but its light tone keeps the room feeling open.
